Ekaterina Walter explains the old proverb.

It seems that failure tends to be more public than success. Or at least that’s what we perceive it to be. We fret it, we try to avoid it, and we question ourselves every time we have unconventional ideas. But the simple truth is – no great success was ever achieved without failure. It may be one epic failure. Or a series of failures – such as Edison's 10,000 attempts to create a light bulb or Dyson’s 5,126 attempts to invent a bagless vacuum cleaner. But, whether we like it or not, failure is a necessary stepping stone to achieving our dreams.

Why does voting makes sense

We choose our leaders. Majority wins. But is majority always right?
There's more than enough good in this world. Think of it this way, what percent of population do you think believes in terrorism. See? People believe in good, they are right in their own ways. We all want peace and prosperity and we seek people who can give that.
So how does this work? Politicians make promises and we assume they would follow them. We give them a chance, if they deliver their promises we elect them again. Simple right?
Do realise we have a responsibility here. Don't play a game of chance. You sure control your vote, you do it on your own lines. Why do you think your friends cast their votes to different people even though you both want the same thing? Perspective? Yes and no.
We need to have a clear understanding of what we are dealing with. The people are the same. You know the ups of one and your friend knows downs of the same and hence the votes. rarely do we put forth all the facts and make a wise decision. When we do it's more of a debate without a conclusion either due to insufficient data or we have 'apple only' people in the debate. Not much we could do about the later(or not?) but wouldn't it be nice to have a clear idea of what we are dealing with? So to all the politicians rather than making open promises, wouldn't it be nice to draft a plan and make it public before the elections? and when you do so please be a bit pretty ;) we all know very few people go through a cryptic 100 page document.
