Belated Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all my teachers back at school really missed those carols in this month and none on the internet could match the melody that the school choir made. Miss you S.A.S.

And well now i have a guitar after a long wait of 3 months. Is a Yamaha 310 (i had to mention cause i toiled a lot for that brand and Ashish was to lazy to take the hands off the brand name in the pic- blow him:-/). The guitar sounds just great. I've not much prior experience in the field but i can tell that a beginner could not go wrong with this choice. Let the music hummmm.....

Merry Christmas and have a geeky new year

How Computers Work - By Ron White
I bought this book a few days ago and I should say this is by far the best book I ever read. The book has some cool graphics that explain in layman's terms many of the geeky thing about a computer. It's mostly about hardware and software's interaction with it. No C, Cpp or Java. But the pretty graphical explanations do their thing better than most animated videos you'd find on YouTube - Believe me I know what I'm talking about.
The book is one of the few ones that are recommended for the Harvard CS50 course (that's how I came to know about it in the first place).
The course itself is another jawdropper - It begins afresh on the first of Jan 2016 on EdX.
P.S - Ignore the photo, Ron paid me a few hundred bucks for advertising it ;-P

Views change

I've always despised apple because of it being a all closed source secret and only upper class/non-affordable products but now looking at some of it's awesome features makes me rethink! I couldn't stop myself from liking the promo videos of three

Appleproducts in a row. All i could say for all of them was WOW.
The next thing that's needed for the world is the openness of opensource with the awesomeness of propitiatory products.

The last one is what technology is for. It's meant to dissolve in your life without you knowing - to make you life your life just a bit better.

Letters

I found this piece of text in my dad's pen-drive -

I am writing this to you because of 3 reasons......
  1. Life, fortune and mishaps are unpredictable; nobody knows how long he lives. Some words are better said early.
  2. I am your father, and if I don't tell you these, no one else will.
  3. What is written is my own personal bitter experiences that perhaps could save you a lot of unnecessary heartaches.

Remember the following as you go through life....

  1. Do not bear grudge towards those who are not good to you. No one has the responsibility of treating you well, except your mother and I. To those who are good to you, you have to treasure it and be thankful, and ALSO you have to be cautious, because, everyone has a motive for every move. When a person is good to you, it does not mean he really likes you. You have to be careful, don't hastily regard him as a real friend.
  2. No one is indispensable, nothing in the world that you must possess. Once you understand this idea, it would be easier for you to go through life when people around you don't want you anymore, or when you lose what / who you love most.
  3. Life is short. When you waste your life today, tomorrow you would find that life is leaving you. The earlier you treasure your life, the better you enjoy life.
  4. Love is but a transient feeling, and this feeling would fade with time and with one's mood. If your so called loved one leaves you, be patient, time will wash away your aches and sadness. Don't over exaggerate the beauty and sweetness of love, and don't over exaggerate the sadness of falling out of love.
  5. A lot of successful people did not receive a good education, that does not mean that you can be successful by not studying hard! Whatever knowledge you gain is your weapon in life. One can go from rags to riches, but one has to start from some rags!
  6. I do not expect you to financially support me when I am old, either would I financially support your whole life. My responsibility as a supporter ends when you are grown up. After that, you decide whether you want to travel in a public transport or in your limousine, whether rich or poor.
  7. You honour your words, but don't expect others to be so. You can be good to people, but don't expect people to be good to you. If you don't understand this, you would end up with unnecessary troubles.
  8. I have bought lotteries for umpteen years, but I never strike any prize. That shows if you want to be rich, you have to work hard! There is no free lunch!
  9. No matter how much time I have with you, let's treasure the time we have together. We do not know if we would meet again in our next life.                                                                Always affectionately yours father"

My letter back ;-|

Dear father,
Wish you were my friend…
Your son.

TLDR? well the gist is the same as the previous post - You just have to get the mix right.

I had to share this...

This is a beautiful peace of music form the students studying music at Berklee. Found it on the EdX music course. Lovely. You just flow with the music. You need not go to a good Music school to make top class music as is evident from majority of our favorite pop stars today but just in case you didn't know something called a - 'Major in Music' exists in the education system and people who do that make some pretty cool stuff like the video below.

Just Sitting here on the corner of awesome and bombdiggity.: Simply You

Simply You:
I don't believe that it is "time" that heals all, because ....

Dream (Public Edit)

A Short Story (Movie scene)...
There was a couple living on the outskirts of a small town. One day the girl saw a kite hanging out there on the chimney of their pitched roofed house and a little boy was standing there staring at the kite. The girl climbed on the roof immediately with a ladder and at the same time, her husband just arrived at the gate. He wanted to stop her but didn't. The words were just out of his mouth - Honey probably you should get down but all that he said was - careful. He went to the other side of the house from where he thought she could fall if she lost control. She looked down for him and wondered where did he go. Turning around she saw him lost her control and tripped. He was just able to grab her waist and was worried if she damaged her head but thank goodness she didn't. They lay there on top of each other pretending like nothing had happened.

What makes the story worth telling? We have some people in our life whom we love and all we want is their betterment. But at times we snatch their free thinking, thinking the what we are doing is for their own betterment. This is mostly the case with parents. On the other hand in some cases we want our soul mates to be independent thinkers. Have their own thoughts and rules. You might slip a slight suggestion at some point in time but you are happy to see them happy. You set them free but if you think that they are doing it wrong you are always there to help them out without and comments.

A father tries to give everything that he was not able to get in his childhood to his son but he never asked if he ever wanted all that. He asked him whether he wanted to take engg. or medical and that he thought was his son's obvious choices as his child got good marks in those subjects - the truth being the boy himself was not sure where his interest lied at that point. The father might have trouble getting a job and so he doesn't want me to face that and forces his son to get a campus placement in a fine college - secure and foolproof. But what does the boy want? Father never asked and son never told because some part of him says he won't understand.

So what kind of relationship is right? I think both the scenarios with the right proportion is ideal. You just have to get the mix right - that's the secret of a happy relationship with your loved ones

Course Mash

EdX Udacity MIT and the list goes on and on for ever. These infinite courses came into existence on the internet in only 22 years. Before that just about 30 websites existed in total(as per a documentary on YouTube). Now that's awesomeness!
But it also confuses me - which among them is good enough. I found the EdX website a few days back - The courses there come from different institutes and foundations. Again they have about 500+ courses in total and scrolling through all that in their mobile app took me almost an hour. The life of the next genius would be much easier than Einstein, won't it? We have all the resources at our disposal and now its upto us to form and invent our own theories from them.

CS50 Rocks!

I was up all night yesterday and found some amazing stuff on the internet, the most awesome one being the Harvard CS50 course which i'll take on EdX(which is another cool site i found) form 1st Jan 2016.

Yesterday night i got a few things cleared about myself after a geeky chat with a repeater JEE in FIITJEE from my hostel(and i have to say the guy knew a whole buch of stuff about computer hardware and basic electrical and electronics in day to day life - it's always a pleasure for me to meet such people in life who have an idea of what is going on around them and how the heck it's going on).

  • Google - There's always a scope of improvement and maybe that's the case with Google. If google had been that almighty giant that i some times think it to be, it would not have taken me so long to find out bout the course as is obvious form my google searches i'm always hungry for some cool tutorials and lectures online. The best result presented to me was form MIT-OCW which i was not quite able to keep up with. It got fairly complicated and boring real quick and there was nothing the professor would do to make it mare interesting. The learning process had an important role of the teacher to keep us on track and make the sessions live and interesting even for the last benchers. I don't know about the college rankings given on the internet but if i had to choose between MIT and Harvard OCW i'll go for Harvard as for now.

  • CS50 - I just saw on lecture yesterday it had most of the stuff which i already knew while some of it was new. The format was close to traditional - The professor speaking on and on and on but some how it all seemed interesting. I read some reviews about the course on internet which were mostly good. This is the kind of course which will get people interested in CSE... Looking forward to join it officially form 1st Jam 2016 on EdX till then i have access to all the course material on the CS50 website. Love it.
    CS50 reviews on coursetalk

  • Guitar - It makes my simile when i think the the CS50 lectures kept me up all night and motivated me enough to go out for a morning walk with full enthu. Well nothing(including my recent taste in music was able to do that!) more on it in my drafts...

  • Linux - The open source community has always attracted me. That explains my interest in Google's Android and Linux more than Windows of Macintosh. I found a free course on EdX which is a sort on Working with linux guide and the most beautiful thing about it being one of the course makers is the guy who made Linux! Pretty cool right? really looking forward to this course.
For me - Education is some thing magical. The enthu to know about things, that happiness when you figure things out, it's all just amazing.

Cheers to all the open source knowledge on the internet and all the great teachers who make all that interesting to grasp.

Two engineers

Two engineers were watching a video entitled - The world fifty years from now.
E1- I don't know if I'll live that long to live this life.
E2- I'm not watching this video thinking that I'll live this life I watch it thinking that one day I'll create such lives.

Learning is eternal

I had 17 years of my life to decide my subspecialties, now I got 1 year to check if I made the right decision and then I get three years to decide my major. Let me make a really mad statement for most of my audience - May be the education system is not that crazy if we think about it in the long term.
There are a whole lot of things that could be done and yes the first year did give me a faint understanding of where to ask for help if I need it. I can easily need a mechanical engineer or any other for that matter at some stage to help me with the details of the field in which they specialize. That's the thought when you complete your semester not when you are trying to get a tough electrical circuit simplified.
Let's continue with the adventure...
PS- I'm planning on watching a good documentary on YouTube everyday, it kinda fun watching the future of technology or the how stuff works videos.

Guitar

Epiohine DR-100 or Epiphone Pro? That's been the question for the past few days.
I usually try and draft my personal posts and time schedules but i'm feeling like sharing this one with you.
Lately my interest in guitar has grown exponentially. I'm never saved money before and never even considered buying a gift above Rs.6000 (or even 1000 for that matter) but this whole guitar thing is really addictive. I had some attraction towards this instrument some couple of years ago but it wasn't as extreme as it is now. I wanna buy a epiphone DR100 which costs Rs.10,000 and i've been thinking about the way to get the money form the past 4-5 days.
(my online research tell me that's the best guitar for beginners in competition with epiphone pro1 which has some negative reviews when compared to DR-100).
I searched some more now and i see some more wide verities who also seem to be good OOhhhh this is so confusing, can't you guitar guys keep it simple at least for beginners! Did i mention that i'm lefty? That's just adding to the confusion.
I asked Vaibhavi for some help. She's not played for a long time but she has friends who do and can help me. Going to a sore also might clear thing up but in any case i need atleast 5000 to walk in there.

What got me into all this? Guitar is the new cool. I told myself i need some thing along with coding for a change but now it's like i'm after the guitar(virtual) all the time! and mostly Taylor Swift has something to do with all this. Not that i lost interest in coding(or have i? no i've better reasons to learn coding than guitar, right?).
Just waiting for my first guitar...

Love

What is love? From what the movies teach me is it - 1) Unexplainable pure and ideal as in twilight saga
2) Is it what the crew members felt for Martian
3) Is it just another name for lust?
4) Is it what Harry did even when he knew that it would lead to his death?
5) Is it just flirting?
6) Is it about having  someone always by your side - someone to count on someone to lean on?
7) Is it just... Well I don't know what it is yet for sure, all I know that at te it seems tougher than the toughest thing and at other its as easy as a rivers course you just flow with it naturally feeling light...

Martian

Late night studies and movies is something tats getting common lately.
Just saw martian at 3x speed.
The movie tell a lot about how all of it is brought together. There's a part in the move where Martian says something like - I have the best minds from the earth here with me...
He needs it all - his botany skills, some codes to hack his robo, aerodynamic knowledge etc etc.
The magic happens when we all work in coordination to create something beautiful.
Here again referring to one of the previous posts - there are many people who wanna do it but fail to and some others who just go with the flow and get there smoothy.
PS - Out of the topic - I wish  science could explain how love works...
Isn't it funny when people who are still single get emotional when they see a break up in a movie...

Life

Voldemort - Why do you live?
Harry - Because i've something worth living  for.

You don't always need to do it for the world there are people out there who just want to see you happy and don't expect anything in return. The world is much better place than you think it is at times.

Lord of the rings

‘Well here we are, just the four of us that started out together,’ said Merry. ‘We have left all the rest behind, one after another. It seems almost like a dream that has slowly faded.’ ‘Not to me,’ said Frodo. ‘To me it feels more like falling asleep again.’

The feeling when its all done. When you see happy faces all around you. When you know that how different this world would be it it wasn't for the one bold step you took. When finally i see all that i did helping people i would have truly served my purpose.

It's all relative

There's no supreme authority here. No clear line between good and bad. The apparent line you were made to see in your school or in your religion was just to ensure you help in smooth functioning of the world.
You can decide for yourself what is right and wrong. If your opinions contrast with the law and you get unlucky you might land up in jail. But that doesn't mean you did it wrong. What you did was wrong in the eyes of your government.
It's your life and you set your own rules if you want to and its your choice to live it the way you want. No one can stop you. No one can confine you. No one can restrict your imagination. You were meant to be free.
But do remember that no one but you are responsible for whatever can happen in your life.
It's the way you take it.

Taylor Enchanted

So what does Taylor's tour have to do with the purpose of my life? When i was watching the tour there was a point where i really cried full with emotions. Every single person in the concert seemed soo light as air... They were just flowing with the music. Taylor's mom and dad stand there as proud parents watching there daughter perform. She said she always had their support. She has her mother as her close friend.
Well i'm not planning to become a singer if you are imaging that...
Lets see the tour the way most people won't see(which is actually good) -
  • There's a guiter in many song and also many playing instruments that were made because some crazy booring people loved physics and music and cared to get into the depth of sound and cords designing.
  • There's a computer invoved for every other thing - Sound mixing, sound control and effects, lighiting control... and though taylor might never think that she owes anything thing to any computer geeks but without them there would be no OS to run her mixing programs or even there won't any hardware for that matter.
That's what my life is. I want to people to be happy. Even if they don't realize whats making it all work to get the thing they are presented. Being a computer programmer is like being a backstage artist. Most of the tims people won't know you but when you see a thousand smiles and you know you have some contribution in making that smil no matter how small that might be is really a wonderful feeling...

On this road i might meet some pebbles but i'm sure the road is gold.
That's what Taylor helped me make clear in my head.

P.S. - Off the topic but i thought i just need to mention. I watched 'Megamind' - an animated movie a few days ago and i really liken it.

Taylor Fearless

Form the morning up till now the only significant thing i remember doing is seeing Taylor's full fearless tour(2 hrs.). Though a part of my mind says that it was a waste of time(and i hate this part) and i should have studied instead for the coming sem exams but a more prominent part of me loved every bit of that two hrs.
It was a reminder of what was my purpose in life. But befor i get in details of that some things i loved about the tours...

  • Taylor's T-Party after the concerts - I really is a huge humble gift for her fans. It just made me love her more.
  • Her lucky number 13(same as mine...)
  • Her favorite(maybe) symbol which i first say in Tomorrow Land After movie(2012) for the first time and it just become my favorite right away. A lovely heart using just your figures (i have that as my whats app dp currently)
  • She some things just at times looks as a small girl enjoying her life to the fullest with all giggles and excited as a 5 year - That the best thing i like about her. I think she has that inner cutie little child alive in her and hope she always keeps it that way.
  • See has most of her song relating to her life some way or the other so the lyrics and voice come from her soul.
  • I don't know her personally at all. The videos i see about her can be equally true and fake. All i would say is that if she is the way i think she is then i'm really happy for her.

My Favorites

I have some of the things i love to do on the right bar of the blog. Until my 10th i didn't have any favourites but recently i started admiring some peoples talent. My views are ever dynamic. I barely know these people in person. But all i know now is that they have a good impression on me and i think they are good in their field and this opinion won't change even if a third party fill me with ill about them.

  • The thing that drives me learning more and more is - 1) it's rooted as a default deep inside of me - i cannot stay still without doing any thing 2) i believe that my knowledge some day will benefit the world let that be in any form (an app,new technology,charity...anything). i love that feeling when someone says that he very happy to have a particular thing to you when he does not know that you are the reason he has that particular thing - if you know what i mean.

if God created the universe then he's laughing at my face

He(i capitalize it just to honor ur belief if u r believer) gave so really good brain power(or may i say grasping power) to some people who are too confused(or lazy or not interested or whatever reason they have if they have any) to use it to the fullest - or even one third of it in many cases. And there are those who rock their nose against the books and internet all day and still take time to grasp things.
'Is it this way by design or that's because some people are raised in a particular fashion that makes them so' - this has been a debate in my mind for long without any conclusions.
In any case i'm getting things done. i'm moving forward(no matter what the pace is but its certainly positive) and i wanna keep it that way.

Bunking is healthy

i'm bunking quite a few lectures from some days. Good to see that highest attendance in class tag drain away:-) Plus it fells refreshing and non-sleepy(most of the time).
It's the submission and prelim era on @ PICT(or all SPPU colleges for that matter).

i

If some one has noticed all my i's in the blog are in smaller case. Just to reason out that's because of a lesson in my 11th standard English text which said -
A small little 'i' looks much cuter than an all important  me 'I'
Just don't let that smile ever fade away:-)

Sharing

A friend - What do people get by sharing their code on git hub?

Well really what do they get? What is my eureka connect blog all about? Getting me famous?
Don't you get that feeling when you see your ideas in practical use which would not have been possible if you just keep them private?
Why do we have Liux? It's all about sharing. It's just what i think, i completely agree that maybe very few people share their own resources for free(though may be the number who want to do so are many) and they might have their reasons.
Ok my philosophies can take up all the blogging time but i have to leave it for some another day. After all we have to get frilooc project done good.

POP Music

Man i love Taylor Swift. I browsed so many days on the internet for a good android app that had her songs but unfortunately the top results didn't have any original Taylor songs. But today finally i got some thing! There's an app called POP Music on Google Play store that has many of her(if not all) her songs!
The first one i heard on the app was 'Back to December' followed by 'Blank December' and once again the former and this time taking a closer look at the lyrics(reading it actually:P). Here again my crazy brain started thinking(wonder if thinking is good or bad)...
Take a look at the people in love(Do i mean Ted 2 coz i just saw that yesterday). When i look at them i feel like(i'm not sure) i'm missing something about being human, but still i;m not fully sure if i do want the thing i'm missing or i'm better without it.
Mind at times plays some crazy games. You want to dance in a DJ party and you do it but fell uncomfortable(would you use the word ******* to describe such person?) Why does that happen? i'm lonely(and my sister has a great contribution in that) and i think i need some company but as soon as i start getting some company i prefer staying lonely again!
May be i was designed that way(who knows?) But yes there's one thing i'm pretty much more sure than any of the shit i wrote above - I love to extract my smile from others.
I may not directly have any connection with someone, but the feeling when i see people happy with  my little act of kindness or any contribution i make in any way is what makes my happy even if that is for a short term.

First Post

This is the first blog i'm writing which is really a blog with daily (not strictly daily but) posts about the things that happen in my life and my views on... well almost all things. Things are getting a bit too complex lately in life or i'm making them so, but in any case i need to spit it out and a blog seems lake a prefect way to do so:-D
P.S - Where did the motivation of blogging came from? Well to be honest it's 'the social network' movie. Also my i already have two static blogs -
